The European Union Delegation to PNG has recently published a Call under its CSO-LA Programme to support civil society organisations’ development work in the field. The global objective for this Call is to enable civil society organisations to engage as actors of governance and development at country level.

The specific objective of this Call is to enhance the protection and sustainable use of natural resources including forestry and biodiversity in PNG, through the engagement and mobilisation of youth and the increased use of digital technologies.

The priority areas are:

  1. to strengthen the voice and engagement of youth/ youth organisations and networks;
  2. the protection and sustainable use of the environment, forestry and biodiversity, in view of climate change; and
  3. the creation of “green” employment opportunities for youth, through the enhanced use of digital technologies, digital literacy and skills.

Each proposal must address the three elements of this priority together in an interlinked and mutually reinforcing way.

The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 960.000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:

  • minimum amount: EUR 320.000
  • maximum amount: EUR 480.000

An information session is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday 18 May at 10.00am via zoom. Those interested to attend the information session can register via email: delegation-papua-new-guinea-cfp@eeas.europa.eu.
