As part of her visit to the region, Ambassador Acconcia paid a courtesy call on the Northern Regional Minister Alhahi Salifu Saeed. They discussed issues bothering on agriculture in the region.
During the two-day event, the exhibitions and conference provided a stimulating platform for participants to exchange views and experiences, create new partnerships and display the unique products from the region. It gathered actors from all sectors (farmers, inputs dealers, processors, technology suppliers and service providers, bankers…) and served as a catalyst for concluding purchase agreements during this important period of preharvest.
H.E. Mrs Diana Acconcia, recalled the importance of the agricultural sector for Ghana as a driver for economic development and has reaffirmed the EU's commitment to improve the quality of life of communities who derive most of their income from agriculture.
The ongoing partnership with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to support agriculture with over EUR 145 million through the EU agricultural program in Ghana – EU-GAP - provides a comprehensive package to increase annual incomes of farmers and secure permanent jobs.
