More than 10,000 visitors took advantage of the Open Day of the European Parliament in Strasbourg last Sunday, June 10, 2018 to strengthen their European spirit and deepen the knowledge of this institution. The Delegation of the European Union to the Council of Europe was present with a stand promoting the European Year of Cultural Heritage, in a privileged location next to the Hemicycle, where lively discussions took place.
In addition to the roll-ups and posters produced specifically for the occasion, a selection of 30 drawings by young students from 8 to 13 years old attending the European School of Strasbourg was presented. The drawings, among which six received a special award for their originality, were previously selected and promoted during the event "Our European Cultural Heritage" organized by our Delegation last May.
Many hundreds of people, especially children and their families, visited our area at length, leafing enthusiastically over the Book of Exposed Works, collecting the promotional brochures of the European Year and Cooperation Priorities between the EU and the Council of Europe, and asking questions about the present and the future of Europe. Visitors could also test their knowledge on the European Union with a quiz and the best ones received a mug from the Delegation.
Special thanks go to the team that did not spare the efforts: Adriano, Anais, Coline, Ester, Hagen and Lucie, not forgetting our First Counsellor Mendes Bota.
