EUAM Iraq met with the Spokesman of the MoI

The mission met today with the Spokesman of the Ministry of Interior Major General Saad Maan to discuss cooperation and further engagement with the MoI. The new Minister of Interior Mr. Yassin al-Yasiri was appointed on 24 June during a parliamentary session.

The Spokesperson Maan briefed the Mission on the Iraqi media landscape, press freedom and human rights situation. EUAM Iraq invited Mr. Maan to participate in the civil society platform meeting taking place in July.
