04/09/2020 – Na passada terça¬ feira, visitei a Líbia, onde me encontrei com as autoridades de um país devastado pela guerra. Logo após o acordo de cessar¬ fogo anunciado a 21 de agosto, a visita teve por objetivo estudar a possibilidade de a UE conceder mais apoio para implementar o cessar¬ fogo e ajudar a resolver o conflito na Líbia. Há uma réstia de esperança que temos de aproveitar.

04/09/2020 - Este martes me desplacé a Libia para reunirme con las autoridades de un país devastado por la guerra. Tras el reciente anuncio de un alto al fuego del pasado 21 de agosto, el objetivo de mi visita era explorar el apoyo adicional que la UE puede proporcionar para hacerlo efectivo y ayudar a resolver el conflicto. Hay un rayo de esperanza que no debemos desperdiciar.

04/09/2020 – قمت يوم الثلاثاء بزيارة إلى ليبيا والتقيت بسلطات البلد الذي مزقته الحرب. وبعد وقت قصير من إعلان اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار في 21 أغسطس، كان الهدف من الزيارة هو مواصلة استكشاف الدعم الذي يمكن أن يقدمه الاتحاد الأوروبي لتنفيذ وقف إطلاق النار هذا والمساعدة في حل النزاع الليبي. وهناك بصيص أمل نحتاج إلى البناء عليه.

27/08/2020 - Several Outlets - To avoid becoming entrenched between the US and China, the EU should deal with them in its own way: it should look at the world from its own point of view, defending its values and interests, and using the instruments of power available to it.

27/08/2020 - Several Outlets - Wenn die EU im Verhältnis zwischen den USA und China nicht zwischen den Fronten zerrieben werden möchte, sollte sie beiden Blöcken gegenüber ihren eigenen Weg finden: Sie sollte die Welt aus ihrer Warte betrachten, ihre Werte und Interessen verteidigen und die ihr zur Verfügung stehenden Machtinstrumente nutzen.
