Heads of state and government from the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean will meet in Brussels on 10 and 11 June to discuss ways to deepen their ties.

The conflict has already claimed too many lives and has caused untold suffering for the Colombian people. The HRVP Federica Mogherini had the chance to discuss on the peace process with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos last week in Panama and restated to him the EU's readiness, and her personal commitment, to support the peace process.

L'annonce faite le 7 mars par le gouvernement colombien et les FARC d'un accord sur la dépollution et la décontamination des territoires concernés par le problème des mines terrestres et d'autres munitions non explosées constitue une avancée bienvenue et très importante dans les efforts visant à apaiser le conflit. Une fois qu'il sera mis en œuvre, cet accord améliorera considérablement les conditions de vie des populations présentes dans les zones de conflit et créera de nouvelles possibilités de développement rural.
