The European Union (EU) is a unique economic and political union between 27 European countries. It is founded on the values of freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights. The Delegation of the EU is a diplomatic mission accredited to the Republic of Chile and its role is to promote political, economic and cooperation relations between Chile and the EU. It has currently 20 staff.


We offer:

We offer a local staff post of Driver. The person recruited will be attributed functions depending on the needs of the Delegation. Upon recruitment, the successful candidate will occupy a specific job function as Driver (this job function may evolve in accordance with the needs of the Delegation). Under this job function the successful candidate will serve as a driver for the EU Delegation in Santiago and occasionally perform simple logistic and administrative tasks for the Delegation, under the supervision and responsibility of the Head of Administration of the EU Delegation.


The place of employment is the EU Delegation to Chile, located at 222, Ricardo Lyon, Piso 3, Providencia Santiago.

The person will be recruited as a Group 5 local agent. The starting basic salary is CLP 854.039.-, which is subject to income tax. We offer an attractive position in an international organisation. We look for a person who should have/be:


  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience ;
  • Secondary education degree;
  • A valid driving licence (Minimum B level);
  • Excellent knowledge of the road network of Chile and the  capital;
  • Basic computer literacy (Email use, Microsoft Office).
  • Excellent knowledge of Spanish (minimum level C2). 
  • Good knowledge of English (minimum level A2)
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics of vehicles;

Furthermore the successful candidate should demonstrate:

  • Excellent manners and communication skills;
  • High sense of duty, flexibility and reliability;
  • Resistance to stress
  • Solid team spirit;

Professional driving qualification (such as defensive driving, hijacking prevention)would be an asset

The selection procedure will consist of an evaluation of the applications, tests and an interview for shortlisted candidates.
