Team Europe in Manitoba

Our Ambassador Geneviève Tuts and 18 Heads of Mission of European Union Member States in Canada concluded a successful first joint visit to Winnipeg, Manitoba this week. The visit highlighted the importance of Canadian provinces and territories in EU-Canada relations, and the close collaboration between the European Union and its Member States in external relations, in the true spirit of Team Europe.

During their visit, the EU Heads of Mission met with Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew and cabinet ministers, and had the opportunity to discuss increased trade and people-to-people collaborations with business and Indigenous leaders. They visited the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and toured the Canadian NORAD Headquarters, as well as CentrePort Canada - a key hub for international trade.

The European delegation included the Ambassadors and High Commissioners of Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
