Call for Corporate Sponsors for 2026 Europe Day Celebrations in Ottawa
As the European Union and Canada mark an exceptionally strong and forward-looking partnership, the EU Delegation to Canada will host a reception in early May 2026 at the Canadian Museum of History to celebrate Europe Day 2026 and, most notably, the 50th anniversary of the EU Delegation’s presence in Ottawa.
The Europe Day Reception is a prominent annual diplomatic event in Ottawa, gathering up to 500 invited guests, including senior representatives of the Government of Canada, Members of Parliament and Senate, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, business leaders, and civil society.
This high-level outreach offers a unique opportunity for selected companies and organisations to promote their image, brand and activities through corporate sponsorship-collaboration with the EU Delegation.
For this purpose, the EU Delegation publishes this call for corporate sponsors. Interested companies and organisations are invited to express their interest in one of the packages described below by 1 April 2026 at 12:00 p.m., at the Head of Administration of the EU Delegation email (delegation-canada-admin@eeas.europa.eu).
The EU Delegation will review the applications in line with the eligibility and selection criteria listed below, and contact the selected companies/organisations bto sign a Corporate Sponsorship Agreement.
- Sponsoring packages
Sponsors are invited to contribute “in kind” through the direct contracting and payment to the event’s suppliers or through the provision of goods and services. Financial contributions to the EU Office are not allowed under the EU Financial Regulation.
Sponsors may apply for more than one package.
The sponsors will be provided with exposure and visibility in the following ways:
Platinum package (value of CAD 50,000+)
Intended for sponsors supporting the overall hospitality and guest experience of the reception.
Benefits of the platinum package include:
- Prominent Logo featured in the on-screen projections loop at the reception.
- Display of a standing banner in the foyer/entrance area.
- Display of a standing banner in the reception area
- 10 entrance tickets for the sponsor’s guests.
- Acknowledgment of sponsorship in the opening remarks of the EU Ambassador.
- Mention in post-event social media.
- Professional event photo package.
Gold package (CAD 10,000-15,000)
Intended for sponsors supporting key operational elements of the reception and event production.
Benefits of the gold package include:
- Logo featured in the on-screen projections loop at the reception.
- Display of a standing banner in the foyer/entrance area.
- Display of a standing banner in the reception area.
- 5 entrance tickets for the sponsor’s guests.
- Acknowledgment in the opening remarks of the EU Ambassador.
- Mention in post-event social media.
- Event professional photo package.
Silver package (CAD 6,000-10,000).
Intended for sponsors contributing to specific elements of the reception and event production.
Benefits of the Silver package include:
- Logo featured in the on-screen projections loop at the reception.
- 2 entrance tickets for the sponsor’s guests.
- Mention in post-event social media.

Bronze package (up to CAD 5,000)
Intended for partial support to the organisation of the reception.

- Eligibility and selection criteria
The Sponsor can be a public or private organisation or company.
The Sponsor’s nature and activities may not entail a possible conflict with the mission and objectives of the European Union, including at policy level in areas such as foreign policy, social, health and environment.
Sponsors are informed that:
- The European External Action Service (EEAS) registers all sponsorships over EUR 1,000, as well as registers and publishes all sponsorships over EUR 5,000 on the websites of the relevant EU Delegations and on the Official EEAS website.
- The EEAS processes personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data by institutions and bodies of the Union, offices and agencies and on the free circulation of such data, and repealing Regulation (EC) No 45/2001 and Decision No 1247/2002/EC[2]. In the event that it is necessary to transmit personal data to any sponsor, as a recipient, the organization must ensure the same level of data protection guaranteed by the EU data protection framework and, in particular, Regulation (EU) 2018/ 1725.
- The Sponsor must not be in a situation referred to in Articles 136 (1) and 141 (1) of the Regulation (EU, Euratom) 2018/1046 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 July 2018 on the financial rules applicable to the general budget of the Union, amending Regulations (EU) No 1296/2013, (EU) No 1301/2013, (EU) No 1303/2013, (EU) No 1304/2013, (EU) No 1309/2013, (EU) No 1316/2013, (EU) No 223/2014, (EU) No 283/2014, and Decision No 541/2014/EU and repealing Regulation (EU, Euratom) No 966/2012.
- Sponsors will not be allowed to active marketing of their product/services nor be authorized to have sales personnel present for promotional activities during the event.
- Visibility provided to sponsors is limited to acknowledgement and does not constitute advertising or endorsement.
- Sponsors will not have a say over the content of the event.
- Admission tickets offered to sponsors are strictly personal and non-transferable. The EU Delegation to Canada reserves the right to refuse or withdraw admission to any guest proposed by a sponsor, in accordance with protocol, security, or institutional considerations.
Review and selection:
The European Union Delegation to Canada will review the applications and will determine the organizations/companies that best align with the core objective of the event to be sponsored. Selection criteria include the sponsorship appeal in terms of goods or services provided and coherence between the sponsored Europe Day event and promotion of the sponsor.
The European Union Delegation to Canada reserves the right not to accept proposals which, because of the nature of the sponsorship or of the sponsor's activities, are deemed incompatible with the institutional role of the European Union. The European Union Delegation to Canada also reserves the right to refuse any sponsorship not deemed consistent with the purpose of the Europe Day event.
