Celebrating D-Day75 at the EU-Foreign Policy Defense Forum

On June 6, 2019, the EU Delegation to the U.S. and Foreign Policy Magazine will host the EU-Foreign Policy Defense Forum at the U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, DC.

 

Our 8th annual forum on EU defense in the U.S. capital will take place on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

 

This year, leading transatlantic security and defense stakeholders will discuss:

  • Trends, threats, and priorities in European security
  • A more capable EU: Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO), Coordinated Annual Review on Defense, and the European Defense Fund
  • Military mobility and hybrid warfare
  • Counterterrorism and information-sharing 
  • Augmented capabilities: the impact and potential of Artificial Intelligence

 

Speakers include the Minister of Defense of Estonia, His Excellency Jüri Luik, and the Minister of Defense of Greece, His Excellency Evangelos Apostolakis. Other speakers include representatives from the European Commission, the European External Action Service, the European Defence Agency, Europol, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. State Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Justice, the NATO-Allied Transformation Command, the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats, media groups (FP, CBS), think tanks (CNAS, New America Foundation, CSIS, GMF), and defense companies.
