On June 24, the European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn will visit Jordan to meet with HM King Abdullah II and members of the Jordanian Government.

During the visit, Commissioner Hahn will meet with H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi and H.E. Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Mohamad Al-Ississ.

Following their meeting, Commissioner Hahn and Dr. Al-Ississ will sign the 'Innovation for Enterprise growth and jobs' - a 20 million-EUR-project that will help local innovative companies grow, produce better, and become more innovative and competitive in local and international markets. This project is part of the EU's continuous efforts to promote initiatives that can unlock entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation in Jordan.

Also reaffirming the EU's commitment to championing innovation and entrepreneurship, Commissioner Hahn will visit Luminus ShamalStart - the leading business accelerator and seed investor in the north of Jordan.

Funded by the European Union, Luminus ShamalStart provides young makers, inventors, innovators and entrepreneurs with a comprehensive ecosystem to transform their ideas into actual projects by offering them tools and resources they need throughout their journeys. In tandem, Luminus ShamalStart grants access to a designated workspace - namely FabLab Irbid - which is part of the global Fab Lab network.

In the evening of 24 June, the Commissioner will attend the Europe Day Reception to mark and celebrate 40 years of EU in Jordan.

On 25 June, the Commissioner will lead a high level mission of International and European financial institutions and donors that will meet H.E. Prime Minister Dr. Omar Razzaz and the Government's economic team, Jordanian private sector and civil society organisations to discuss support to Jordan socio-economic reform agenda.
