The specialized training course on imagery intelligence, taught by Spanish military personnel in Accra, Ghana, as part of the European Union Security and Defense Initiative for the Gulf of Guinea (EU SDI GoG), has come to an end.

As of 10 April 2026 the European Entry-Exit System (EES) is fully operational at all external border crossing points of the countries using EES.

Recent engagement in Ghana has reaffirmed the strong foundations of cooperation between the European Union and its Ghanaian partners, highlighting both tangible progress and opportunities to deepen impact in line with EU priorities in the Gulf of Guinea.

As part of the European Union’s cooperation with the countries of the Gulf of Guinea, two members of the Spanish BRICAN XVI Headquarters Battalion are conducting a four-week training course in the African country.
