The EU-New Zealand Joint Science and Technology Cooperation Committee met on 29 July in Wellington, New Zealand. The Director-General for Research and Innovation, Jean-Eric Paquet, led the EU side. Both parties took stock of current cooperation, including in societal challenges such as bioeconomy, climate, health, food and natural resources. They looked at future opportunities offered by the next EU Research and Innovationprogramme for (2021-2027), Horizon Europe.
In Wellington DG Paquet discussed similar issues with Megan Woods, Minister for Research, Science and Innovation, Energy and Resources.
While in Auckland meetings took place with the University of Auckland, Callaghan Innovation, the Maurice Wilkins Centre at the School of Biological Sciences, the Auckland Bio-Engineering Institute and NZ Tech.
