Beats of Unity: Europe Day celebrated in Sarajevo

The Always in the Heart of Europe open air concert was enjoyed by a large crowd in the centre of Sarajevo to mark Europe Day. Organised by the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with Garden of Dreams, the concert featured electrifying performances by local and regional artists.

Taking place in front of the Hall of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there were performances by Stoposto, Sarajevo’s own energetic sensation, Artan Lili, Serbia’s genre-blending rock innovators and Ida Prester and Lollobridiga, magnetic personalities that never fail to get the crowd dancing.

“I am very happy to have rounded up off my first Europe Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a concert that showcases how music and culture can be great unifiers,” said the Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Luigi Soreca. “This is one of the many events that we are organising across Bosnia and Herzegovina to celebrate what brings us together, and reiterate the values of cooperation, diversity and solidarity that the European Union was founded on as well as the vision of a continent united in peace and prosperity”.

The concert was free and open to all members of the public. Free open-air concerts will also be held in Mostar on 10 May and Banja Luka on 16 May. Beyond the concerts, Europe Day activities continue to take place across Bosnia and Herzegovina. For more information: https://europehouse.ba/en/
