Success story of Arzu Seyidova

21.07.2020

Arzu studied Culinary Arts with a specialisation in confectionary at the Gabala State Vocational Training Center. Today, she is doing what she loves - working as a confectioner at the AZZA cake house, a famous bakery in Baku.

Arzu learned about the speciality courses being offered at the Gabala State Vocational Training Center through the “Open Door” event organized within the EU-funded project. She shares her impressions with us.

“My internship applications were being constantly rejected by many hotels and restaurants and I realised that I needed in-company training on my speciality to build my future career. I immediately applied, and when I was accepted on the course it was like a dream come true.”

Opportunities provided by the ED-VET project to atted in-company trainings are very important for students like Arzu, who completed her in-company training at the Qafqaz Tufandag Hotel. The in-company trainings provide unique opportunities for students to work with qualified professionals to develop their skills and are a key stepping stone in their career development.

It is very important to work with professional chefs. Theory alone is not enough and your knowledge needs to be applied under real work conditions”, said Arzu. ‘’I am now working at AZZA cake house, a famous bakery in Baku, which would not have been possible without my specialisation and the in-company training I received through the ED-VET project.”
