The agenda of the Forum includes developments in the local business climate as well as new opportunities for economic cooperation between the countries.

ECONOMIC COOPERATION BETWEEN THE EU AND AZERBAIJAN

The EU is Azerbaijan's first economic partner and represents the majority of its trade and foreign direct investments. Over 400 companies from various EU countries are currently operating in Azerbaijan.

The EU has been supporting the Government of Azerbaijan in reforming its business environment through a number of initiatives dedicated to education, taxes, justice, rural and regional development and others.

Additionally, the EU is currently supporting Azerbaijan in developing competitiveness in key non-oil manufacturing sectors of the economy and strengthening its non-oil SME sector.
