An information session on the call for proposals will take place on 30 November 2018, from 10:30 h to 12:00 h, in Landmark Hotel (90A Nizami street, Landmark III). Floor Level (-1) . LAHIJ room. Entrance via Hotel Main Entrance The information session will be held in English language.

All details pertaining to this call and which are required by potential applicants to submit a concept note are contained in the published documents. The purpose of the information session announced here is, therefore, to respond to clarification questions potential applicants may have after having studied the published documents.

The global objective of this call for proposals is to improve relevance, availability, affordability and sustainability of the agricultural advisory services and information system and harness the market potential of local food (heritage).   

For the purposes of this call, local food is defined as the direct or intermediated marketing of agriculture and food products to consumers and which are typically produced and distributed in a limited geographic area. Ideally, local food systems connect farms and consumers at the point of sale. Local food is not restricted to – but ideally includes food produced by employing locally adapted and traditional methods of production and using traditional plant varieties and animal breeds adapted to local ecosystems – and uses traditional recipes in local food preparations.

The specific objectives of this Call for Proposals are:

 (i) to support community driven agricultural connections and - advisory - and information services providing more effective farm and rural business decision support, promoting market linkages, climate resilient farming  and good agricultural practices - and

(ii) to strengthen the capacity of civil society, pro-entrepreneurial circles and business associations in launching a variety of initiatives to promote positive investment climate and urban mentoring in local agri - food systems and broadly in the agri - food regional economy in Azerbaijan, including outreach and awareness campaigns.

The call is open only to non - profit making organizations as defined in more detail in the Guidelines for Applicants and which are established in the Republic of Azerbaijan, a Member State of the European Union, countries covered by the IPA regulation, the Eastern Partnership (EaP) or the European Economic Area.  

The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 4,000,000. The contracting authority reserves the right not to award all available funds.
