The Delegation of the European Union to India announces a two-day Conference on ”EU-India Partnership for Cultural Heritage Conservation“ being organised along with European Union Member States, in partnership with the National Museum Institute of Art, Conservation and Museology on 4-5 December 2018 at the National Museum in New Delhi.
On May 17, 2017, the European Parliament and Council declared the year 2018 as the European Year of Cultural Heritage with the aim to encourage more people to engage with Europe's cultural heritage, and to discover cultural heritage as a bridge builder between the EU and partner countries. The Conference is being organized to mark the conclusion of 2018 as the European Year of Cultural Heritage.
The latest EU-India Summit on October 6, 2017 in New Delhi added a new momentum to the long-standing relationship between the world's largest democracies where our leaders stressed on the intensification of exchanges between cultural stakeholders.
With this vision, the Conference seeks to achieve the following through convening more than 30 European and Indian experts:
