Statement by the Spokesperson on the recent acts of violence in Nicaragua

The acts of violence against students and civilians in Nicaragua as well as the delays in providing urgent medical assistance for the wounded are deplorable. We expect the authorities to ensure the security of the population and the respect for fundamental rights. All violence must stop now. We reiterate our appeal for a peaceful and democratic solution for the situation in the country in the framework of the national dialogue.
