The EU and Australia have a vibrant, longstanding relationship in the field of education that is further strengthened by the EU-Australia Framework Agreement.
Erasmus + is the EU's programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport. The international dimension of the Programme focuses on higher education and youth.
In higher education there are three programs that offer opportunities to Australian students, academics and staff.
The International Credit Mobility Scheme funds student mobility between 3-12 months in both directions to obtain credits in a host institution that are then recognised by the home institution. This scheme also funds staff mobility of up to 2 months to and from the participating universities. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of inter-institutional agreements between universities. See more here.
Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees are offered by consortia of EU and non-EU universities. The scheme provides high-level scholarships to students and staff from anywhere in the world to participate in the EM Joint Master Degrees. The Degree programs offer mobility to at least two different European countries. See more here.
Jean Monnet activities support academic teaching and research (Chairs, modules, centres of excellence, cooperation projects, conferences and publications) in the field of EU Studies. Postgraduate level courses on EU issues or promoting debate and exchanges on EU policy priorities are examples of activities that can be supported. See more here.
