Delegation of the European Union to Australia

05/02/2018 - 03:54

Showcasing moving and entertaining shorts drawn from the European Union countries, celebrating all things European and Flickerfest! Screening times: Fri 2nd Mar, 7.30pm - Classification: under 15 to be accompanied by an adult

European film is well-known for its ingenuity, its variety and its long tradition: the first short film ever recorded was the Roundhay Garden Scene in 1888, a silent film by French inventor Louis Le Prince.

The EU Delegation to Australia has partnered with Flickerfest to showcase a selection of EU Shorts within their best of International Shorts programme. The first stop will be Mackay in early March.

We are proud to be partnering with Flickerfest in promoting such an important part of our cultural heritage and even more so because 2018 will be the European Year for Cultural Heritage.

Come along and enjoy a bit of European cinema and to see the stunning Oscar nominated short Watu Wote (All of Us) from Germany.
