1900+ New Music Decade: Jubilee Concert

The European Union Delegation to Armenia and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia present a Concert of the Honored Artist of Armenia, pianist Hayk Melikyan recital dedicated the 10th anniversary of 1900+ World Piano Music Concert Series.

The concert will feature masterpieces of the 20th century European composers, including K. Debussy, I. Xenakis, K. Shockhausen, A. Pärt and others.

Since 2009, 14 concerts have been organized dedicated to the 20th century and contemporary music of Russian, French, Japanese, Polish, Swiss, American, German, Baltic, Italian, Czech, Brazilian, Greek, Argentine and Bulgarian composers.

Among the upcoming recitals are the 15th concert dedicated to the Jubilee of 1900+ (April 26) and the 16th concert dedicated to the Ukrainian music (May 20th).

The concert will take place at 19:00 on April 26 at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall.

ATTENTION:  H.E. Dr. Piotr Antoni ŚWITALSKI, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union and the Head of the Delegation will give a briefing to the media at 18:45 on April 26 at the Concert Hall lobby.

About 1900+

1900+ is a World Piano Music Concerts Series of the 20th Century and Contemporary Music which was initiated by pianist Hayk Melikyan, Honored Artist of Armenia aiming to present the diverse culture of different nations through the 20th Century and Contemporary music. The project launched in 2009 and has presented dozens of premieres for the Armenian audience. The second objective of 1900+ is to propagate the new music in Armenia and raise the awareness of the Armenian society on the current tendencies in the world classical music.
