Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the website of the European Union´s Delegation to Armenia. We hope the information it contains will help you to better understand the activities of the EU and particularly the role of the Delegation in Armenia. You can also explore here the projects that we implement and see in which sectors the EU is engaged in Armenia.

I started my mission in Armenia in September 2015. I joined the Delegation team with a strong desire to further deepen and strengthen the EU-Armenia relations.

Armenia is an important partner of the EU, being part of our Neighbourhood. Since 2004, there have been significant changes in the EU's Southern and Eastern neighbourhood. European Neighbourhood Policy has therefore undergone a review to allow the EU and its neighbours to build more effective partnerships. The EU will pursue its interests which include promotion of universal values. The EU's own stability is built on democracy, human rights, the rule of law, economic openness and the new ENP will make stabilisation its main political priority.

The European Union, its Member States, and the partner countries endorsed  at November 24, 2017 Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels twenty deliverables that set out a clear work plan for the future, to be achieved by the year 2020.

The beginning of my work in the EU Delegation was very well timed. The EU and Armenia opened and completed negotiations on a new overarching framework for deepening of our relations; In March 2017 Armenia and the European Union initialled in Yerevan the new Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which was later signed in the side-lines of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels on November 24, 2017. On the same day the EU and Armenia also initialled a Common Aviation Area Agreement and signed High-Level Understanding on Trans-European Transport Network Expansion. And I am delighted to witness and be part of this important process.

Now, let me wish you interesting reading and thank you again for your interest in the EU.
