The purpose of the drawing competition 'Coronavirus in Uruguay' was to foster healthcare and solidarity during the coronavirus pandemic. To this end, the EU Delegation invited Uruguayan schoolchildren in 5th and 6th years of primary school to represent the title of the contest in an original and creative way, expressing in images how the pandemic has affected them and their families.
The Delegation received a large number of drawings from a large number of participants from schools across the country, most of whom met the formal requirements of the contest rules.
After the participation period ended, the drawings were evaluated by a jury composed of three primary school drawing teachers and a representative from the EU Delegation. This panel was responsible for choosing the winning drawings based on their quality, originality and creativity.
Given the difficulty of choosing only 3 winners from the large number of participants, the jury decided to make three additional special mentions, which will receive a certificate to that effect from the Delegation.
