On 29 March, EUAM Iraq Head of Mission Christoph Buik met with the Iraqi Minister of Interior Yassin al-Yasiri. HoM informed the Minister about the current state of play of the Mission and the decision to relocate temporarily non-essential staff out of Iraq as part of the efforts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.
HoM reiterated that EUAM Iraq continues to engage with the Iraqi counterparts, international partners and civil society representatives and is committed to provide strategic advice and support to the MoI.
HoM highlighted the importance of continued cooperation on the EUAM Iraq’s Human Resources Management project and also offered the Mission’s support and expertise on tackling the COVID-19 and after-care of the pandemic.
