Cultural Heritage in Armenia-Challenges and Responsibilities conference builds further bridges between past and the future

The Delegation of the European Union to Armenia invites you to "Cultural Heritage in Armenia-Challenges and Responsibilities" conference to highlight the European Year of Cultural Heritage (EYCH2018) taking place in the margins of the International Contemporary Art Exhibition (ICEA2018) and organised by Shaula International LLC. The conference will take place on 16-17 October at Congress Hotel (address: 5, Italy street, Yerevan).

H.E. Mr. Piotr Antoni Świtalski, Ambassador, Head of European Union Delegation to Armenia, Tigran Galstyan, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and Fabio Lenzi CEO of Shaula International will make welcoming remarks. Representatives of the Government of Armenia, International community and Civil Society organisations, as well as professors and students of dedicated colleges and higher educational institutes are invited to the conference.

H.E. Mr. Piotr A. Świtalski, Ambassador, Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia will hold a press briefing before the conference at 09:45 on 16 October (Congress Hotel). Members of the media are cordially invited to arrive at 9:35 for registration.

Through this conference the European Union highlights the importance of cultural heritage, in particular its protection, rehabilitation and promotion to attract tourism and boost economic growth, as well as marks the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, which is a unique opportunity to value the role of heritage while fostering a shared sense of history and identity. The aim of the European Year of Cultural Heritage is to encourage more people to engage with Europe's cultural heritage, and to reinforce a sense of belonging to a common European space. The slogan for the year is: Our heritage: where the past meets the future.

The Conference will highlight the awareness and valorisation the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, as well as the requalification of historical sites, promising partnerships for cultural heritage. The speakers of the conference, Mr. Rurale, SDA Prof. of Marketing at Bocconi University and Piergiacomo Mion, Government, Health and Non For Profit Division at SDA Bocconi, will elaborate the above-mentioned thematic together with Mrs. Anais Sansotti, Mrs. Gayane Casnati, Mr. Tigran Galstyan, Mr. Ruben Arevshatyan, Mr. Armen Abroyan and Mrs. Nora Mirzoyan will discuss policy developments, success stories and future challenges.
