The European Union Delegation to Armenia invites you to a press briefing of H.E. Mr. Piotr A. Świtalski, Ambassador, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia on EU-Armenia cultural relations.

The European Union Delegation to Armenia invites you to a press briefing of H.E. Mr. Piotr A. Świtalski, Ambassador, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia on EU-Armenia cultural relations.

The Ambassador will share information about the EU Strategy on International Cultural Relations and on the signature of the Agreement on Armenia's participation in the Creative Europe programme as one of the concrete deliverables of the Strategy.  The Agreement is also an important step in the frameworks of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed in November 2017.

The press briefing will be held at 18:15 on March 30, 2018 at the National Center of Chamber Music of Armenia (Address: 1, Isahakian str., Yerevan). The media is kindly requested to be at 18:00PM on March 30, 2018 for registration.

After the press briefing, seats are reserved for the media during the "Sound Souvenir" classical concert of the Symphony Orchestra of the European School Brussels. The classical concert will take place on March 30 at 18:30 at the National Center of Chamber Music of Armenia.   The concert is organised by the Delegation of the European Union in Armenia and the Symphony Orchestra of the European School Brussels to link musical children in different countries. Within the frameworks of the project the symphony orchestra of the European School Brussels will provide 10 musical instruments to musical schools in Gyumri and Echmiadzin.

 

Background information

The Symphony Orchestra of the European School Brussels I was founded in 1976 and since then has been developing to become the biggest pupils' orchestra of all 19 European Schools. The European Schools provide a general education without special focus on music. The Orchestra consists of pupils at the age of 9 to 18 years from different European countries, coming from France, Germany, Great-Britain, Italy, Spain, Malta, Poland, Belgium and Denmark. During their stay in Armenia from there are 3 concerts planned at different concert halls in Yerevan, Gyumri and Echmiadzin.

  • April 2, at 16:00 at Musical School #1 named after Makar Yekmalian
  • April 3, at 18:00 Chamber Orchestra Concert at Aram Khachatryan Museum
