How European private sector investment contributes to industrialization and development in Zambia

14.04.2021

The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Zambia and COMESA is currently undertaking a mapping exercise to ascertain the presence in Zambia of business enterprises originating from EU Member States, to better assess their socio-economic contributions. The generated data/information will be used to illustrate the relevance of EU private sector investment in Zambia and underpin trade relationship between Zambia and the EU. This will allow us to better engage the Government of Zambia on issues related to the improvements of the investment climate and the business-enabling environment.

All companies in Zambia, which originate from European member states, potential investors, as well as companies importing from the EU and/or exporting to the EU, can participate by filling in this 5-minute online survey by 12 May 2021.

Companies are invited to contribute to this exercise if:

  • their ownership includes citizens/funds/companies of any EU Member State (at more than 10%); and/or
  • their head office is based in any EU Member State; and/or
  • the EU is their main import/export market.

This means that basically all companies from the EU 27 Member States and from Zambia are covered and are invited to participate in the online survey.

All replies received are confidential and protected by EU’s Data Protection Law. They will be presented in aggregated form (as a whole, not mentioning individual companies) and will not be shared with third parties.
