28 October 2019, Dar es Salaam: Today, His Excellency Dr John Pombe Magufuli, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, received the credentials of Ambassador Manfredo Fanti, the new European Union (EU) Head of Delegation to the United Republic of Tanzania. The ceremony took place at the State House in Dar es Salaam.
During the presentation, Ambassador Manfredo Fanti presented the marking elements of the European Union’s partnership with Tanzania, in the framework provided by the EU-ACP Cotonou Agreement under the current support, provided through the European Development Fund.
President Magufuli acknowledged the long-term positive partnership between the EU and Tanzania, and reiterated the readiness of the fifth phase government to maintain excellent working relations with the Delegation of the EU.
Ambassador Fanti has more than 25 years of service in different departments of the European Union. His last posting was the Head of Regional Affairs Division, Americas Department in the European External Action Service in Brussels.
