The National Communication and Awareness Manager will work as part of the implementation team for the EU-funded ‘Food Safety Project’ that commenced in January 2019 and will continue until the end of 2022.
The project is being implemented by an experienced international partnership led by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) and three partners - the Irish Department (Ministry) of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM), the Finnish Food Safety Authority and Creative Business Solutions (CBS). The project aims to achieve three major results within the food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary systems in Albania: (i) Organisational reform and human resource development (ii) Public awareness and communication regarding food safety (iii) Support progress towards EU standards and integration.
General Scope of the Position
The project is now looking for a highly motivated, talented and innovative communications specialist to join our team. We are looking for a person who has a proven background in the development of communication strategies, communication planning and delivery. A team-player, with a deep understanding of the communications landscape in Albania and the ability tackle the complexity of food safety communication in an accessible, factual and engaging manner. The appointed person must be able to understand consumer, commercial and public sector perspectives of food safety.
We are looking for someone who can work across both internal and external communication strategies, strengthen fact-based consumer understanding of food safety matters, find ways of engaging all actors in the food system towards a common objective of strengthened food safety in a balanced and fair manner. This is a demanding but exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about communications and who can use their talent and creativity to address the fundamental topic of food safety.
