RECRUITMENT OF LEGAL EXPERT AT EU4LEA PROJECT

EU4LEA is looking for one Legal Expert to provide support to the project

We are

European Union for Law Enforcement in Albania EU4LEA - is an an EU-funded technical assistance project with an element of supply, designed to support and assist key Albanian law enforcement agencies in particular the Albanian State Police, Ministry of Interior, SPAK (SPO and NBI), General Prosecution Office, including District Prosecutor Offices (PO), in achieving their objectives and bringing their performance closer to EU standards.

The main beneficiaries of EU4LEA assistance are the Ministry of Interior, the Albanian State Police, the General Prosecutor’s Office and District Prosecutor offices and SPAK (SPO and NBI). Secondary project beneficiaries include the Albanian FIU, Customs and Tax authorities, AASCA, Ministry of Justice, etc. The final project beneficiaries are the Albanian citizens.

EU4LEA is implemented Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Italy as the lead partner in consortium with the Federal Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Austria and the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP)-Spain as the other two implementing partners of the project. EU4LEA started its implementation on 1st June 2022 and is expected to last twenty-four months.

We offer

We offer the post of Legal Expert. Under this post the recruited person will be attributed functions depending on the needs of the EU4LEA project. Upon recruitment the successful candidate will occupy a specific job function as Legal Expert. Under this job function the successful candidate will report to and will work under the responsibility of the Team Leader, or any other person assigned by the latter. The successful candidate will be fluent in English and Albanian and with strong technical skills in their given field. He/she will have excellent 2 interpersonal skills and will be able to work effectively on an independent basis as well as part of a team. Previous experience of working on EU-funded projects would be a strong asset.

Specific conditions of engagement:

Type of contract: consultancy

Duration of the contract: 12 months (starting April 2023)

Probation period: Engagement for this post is subject to the successful completion of a probationary period of 3 (three) months. EU4LEA reserves the right to terminate the contract of employment during or at the end of the probation period.

The successful candidate will have to declare any conflict of interest prior to signing the contract with EU4LEA Project. The workplace will be in Tirana, Albania.

The procedure

After the deadline for applications, the applications will be reviewed by a Selection Committee set up for this purpose. The Selection Committee will prepare a short-list of candidates who are considered the most suitable for the post based on a preliminary assessment of the information provided in their cover letter and CV. Evidence on education and professional experience will be required to the short-list candidates. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by e-mail/telephone. Applicants should be available for a written test/interview in Tirana, Albania during March 2023. Once the recruitment procedure has been completed EU4LEA will inform the short-listed candidates on the result of the procedure (if the candidate has or has not been recruited).
