Glenn Micallef, European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport, will visit Albania on 16 June, marking his first official mission to the country and to the Western Balkan region.
The Commissioner will meet with Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, and Minister of State for Youth and Children, Bora Muzhaqi. In addition, Commissioner Micallef will visit the campus of College of Europe in Tirana and address students at the closing ceremony of the first cohort. As part of his mission, Commissioner Micallef will visit two EU-funded projects in Tirana, where he will engage with young people benefiting from EU funded programmes such as Youth Guarantee, vocational education training programmes and the Young European Ambassadors.
He will also visit the National Film Archive premises and the former Kinostudio, marking the successful completion of two important actions under the EU4Culture programme, the restoration of the façade of the former Kinostudio and the handover of equipment to the National Film Archive for the restoration and preservation of Albania’s entire film archive.
