Capacity Building in Vocational Education and Training (CB VET) 2026: how to apply?
The Capacity building in the field of Vocational Education and Training (CB VET) action supports international cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships between organisations active in the field of VET in EU Member States, third countries associated to the Erasmus+ programme and third countries not associated to the programme. Its aim is to support the relevance, accessibility, and responsiveness of VET institutions and systems in third countries not associated to the programme, as a driver of sustainable socio-economic development.

- ERASMUS-EDU-2026-CB-VET-SMC - South-Mediterranean Countries (Region 3)

CB VET 2025 has been given a total budget of EUR 28 440 000 divided by regions:
- Western Balkans (Region 1) - EUR 8 482 000
- Neighbourhood East (Region 2) - EUR 3 800 000
- South-Mediterranean countries (Region 3) - EUR 6 358 000*
- Sub-Saharan Africa (Region 9) - EUR 7 500 000
- Latin America (Region 10) - EUR 2 000 000
- Caribbean (Region 11) - EUR 300 000
* of which 800,000 EUR for additional projects involving Tunisian organisations
Important novelties for the 2026 call (ERASMUS-EDU-2026-CB-VET)
The applicant should carefully read the Erasmus+ Programme guide, specifically the part focusing on the “Capacity building in the field of Vocational Education and Training” action (pages 332 – 342). It is worth mentioning some of the most important changes compared to the previous CB VET calls:
- An organisation cannot be the coordinator of more than two proposals submitted under this action.
- Part B of the application can have a maximum of 40 pages.
- The maximum EU grant is 500 000 EUR. There is no minimum EU grant.
- Subcontracting should represent a maximum of 10% of the awarded EU grant.
- The consortium must include at least one VET provider at secondary education level.
- Duration of a project should be normally 36 months.
- Regional priorities were changed. New policy documents and initiatives were added for all regions.
- Some changes in the “Award criteria”.

The projects selected in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 are in the Funding & Tenders Portal in the section “Funded project list” on the left-hand menu. For 2025, search using the topic names: ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CB-VET-WB, ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CB-VET-NE, ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CB-VET-SMC, ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CB-VET-SSA, ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CB-VET-LA, and ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CB-VET-CA. Another way to search for selected projects is to go to the “Projects and results” section (sub-section “EU funded projects”).
Erasmus+ Project Results Platform allows you to search for organisations and approved projects and produced deliverables (click on ‘Search for Erasmus+ funded projects’). When searching for the 273 selected CB VET projects, choose “KA2: Partnerships for cooperation and exchanges of practices” for “Action” and “KA233: Capacity Building in Vocational Education and Training” as “Action types”.
