Between Sunday 6 and Saturday 13 May, Europe Week will be celebrated throughout the country, in a journey that will take us from Shkodra to Korca, through more than 12 locations.
The rich programme, open to the public, offers exhibitions on Albania's deep European roots, discussions with citizens, conferences on Albania's EU integration and European cinema nights. All through the week, we will celebrate 2018 as the European Year of Cultural Heritage, showcasing the best Albania has to offer, with bike rides, live music, art installations and even a food fair!
On Europe Day (Wednesday 9 May), the EU Delegation and Member States have prepared an EU Village on Skanderbeg square in Tirana, with numerous activities and stands presenting the diversity of their involvement and support for Albania.
In the evening of 9th May, the Head of the EU Delegation, Ambassador Vlahutin, invites all to join the Europe Day celebrations on Skanderbeg Square with a musical programme dedicated to the women of Albania. Prepared by Vikena Kamenica, it will feature performances by soloist Artemisa Mithi, soprano Renisa Laçka, violin soloist Joana Kaimi and the University of Arts’ Girls Choir conducted by Suzana Turku. After the official event the celebrations will continue at the After Party featuring Marsela Cibukaj, Vitmar Basha and Peter Pan Quartet, proposed by the Municipality of Tirana.
