In the context of the ongoing peace efforts, aiming to set the framework for peace negotiations, a number of questions, perspectives, narratives, principles are being debated. They highlight differences and commonalties among all parties involved, including on the suitable way to reach a peace agreement and the most effective manner to ensure its sustainable implementation.
''Less discussed despite being conflict enablers, all matters related to governance, integrity, accountability deserves full attention'', says the EU Ambassador to Afghanistan, Pierre Mayaudon.
''The aim of the Conference is to provoke a salutary discussion on ending the conflict and enforcing a lasting peace: zero tolerance for corruption '', Ambassador Mayaudon adds.
The EU Delegation thanks H.E. President Ashraf Ghani for having accepted this year again to host the conference and provide his perspective through keynote speech. Ambassador Pierre Mayaudon, the United Nations Secretary General's Special Representative H.E. Tadamichi Yamamoto, Director of the Afghan Institute of Strategic Studies Dr Davood Moradian, Director General of Civil Service Institute at the Independent Administrative Reforms and Civil Service Commission, and Country Representative for Afghanistan Mr Abdullah Ahmadzai will contribute to the conference by their remarks.
