EU Humanitarian Air Bridge delivers medical aid to Afghanistan

Today, a new EU Humanitarian Air Bridge flight has arrived in Kabul and delivered close to 100 tonnes of life-saving cargo to support the most vulnerable in Afghanistan. The cargo consists of medical supplies and equipment.

Raffaella Iodice, EU Chargée d’Affaires a.i. and Deputy Head of Delegation said: ”The European Union continues to support the people of Afghanistan. Today’s Humanitarian Air Bridge flight delivers additional vital medicines and medical items that will benefit the Afghan people. The EU Humanitarian Air Bridge helps the United Nations and humanitarian NGOs to keep operating in the country and represents a lifeline to those in need of medical treatment”.

This is the 27th cargo flight that has arrived since August 2021 to support the people of Afghanistan.

It enables EU humanitarian partners, including the United Nations and humanitarian NGOs,  to continue delivering vital aid and health care services to Afghans in need.

Background:
