Coming from different Infantry Battalions, eight trainees learned how to stabilize a wounded victim and to avoid deaths in combat, such as massive bleedings and thorax wounds.

The formation contemplates different modules, such as:

• Initial theoretical part about anatomy-physiology of the human body.
• Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), performed alone, with a team, and with an External automated defibrillator (EAD).
• Fracture immobilization.
• Approaching to different wound types, burns and animal bites.
• Tactical Combat Casualty Care – First level (TCCC).
• Padagogy.

Within the scope of the Tactical Combat Casualty Care – first level, the peak of this course occurs when the students play a role as an Combat Lifesaving Monitor. That way, they developed skills to share their knowledge to their comrades, resulting in a huge impact both in preventing avoidable losses in combat, and in CAR Armed Forces empowerment.

Coordinated by Lieutenant Marco Henriques, from Specialized Education Medical of the EUTM Education Training Pillar, the aim for him is to :“Not only to provide them the necessary skills as monitor in their battalions, but also to make them aware of the importance of operational medical support”.
