EUBAM Libya: advisory activities go on despite clashes in Tripoli

19.09.2019

The European Union helps Libyan authorities inter alia to counter organized crime. EUBAM Libya recently set up workshops in Tunis on special investigation techniques and forensics with the collaboration of CT-Mena.

Libyan police investigators and experts from the Prosecution Office fighting organized crime were the participants. The seminars focused on successful investigation and prosecution of criminal cases.

Established in 2013, EUBAM Libya provides advice to the Libyan Government in the fields of border management, law enforcement, criminal justice and strategic coordination. EUBAM Libya advises its Libyan counterparts from its bases in Tunis and in Tripoli. The current clashes around Tripoli encumber activities, but do not stop EUBAM Libya and its Libyan partners from cooperating.

CT-Mena is a support programme of the European Commission aimed at strengthening counter-terrorism efforts of Middle Eastern and Northern African countries.
