Federica Mogherini meets with Deputy Prime Minister Bujar Osmani, Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia

Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, met today in Brussels with Bujar Osmani, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs of North Macedonia.

High Representative/Vice-President Mogherini commended Deputy Prime Minister Osmani on North Macedonia's progress on its EU integration path and stressed that the country had earned the European Commission's repeated recommendation to open accession negotiations. She reiterated her determination to support the country in moving forward on its EU integration path.

High Representative/Vice-President Mogherini and Deputy Prime Minister Osmani also discussed the situation in the region, where the historic Prespa agreement, together with the bilateral Treaty with Bulgaria, continues to set a positive example for the entire region, and beyond.
