The Deputy Head of Mission of EUAM Iraq Mr. Benny Jensen and the Mission’s senior strategic advisers on border management met yesterday with Dr. Kadhim Mohamed Al-Ekabi, the Chairman of the Border Points Commission (BPC) at the BPC Headquarters in Baghdad.
Dr.Kadhim introduced the work and activities of the BPC. The Mission expressed its willingness for a closer cooperation and support on advising the BPC in the forthcoming challenges. The two parties agreed to meet on a regular basis to continue fruitful discussions on a way forward.
As part of EUAM Iraq’s current mandate the Mission contributes to the implementation of a strategy on countering terrorism and organised crime with a specific focus on border management, financial crime, money laundering and protection of cultural heritage in Iraq.
