Stability, security, and good governance in the G5 Sahel countries are of paramount importance to the EU. The need to address common security challenges such as Terrorism, Illicit Trafficking, and Transnational Organised Crime is at the core of the EU intervention in the Sahel and for the security and wellbeing of European citizens. The EU's Regional Advisory and Coordination Cell for the Sahel (RACC) contributes to peace and stability in region.
