European Union External Action



On Sunday 6 October, the EU Delegation together with the embassies of EU Member States, the Cambodian Ministries of Environment and Tourism, and Young Eco Ambassadors have ended the EU Green Weeks with a public clean-up along the Tonle Sap and Mekong Rivers, where 500 citizens and environmental activists participated, collecting approximately 6 tons of trash of which the vast majority appears to be plastic waste.

歐洲經貿辦事處今日再次與環保署、外交部、歐盟會員國駐台辦事處的同仁與親友,以及新北市八里區居民,在八里挖子尾海岸淨灘。今日共有248人共襄盛舉,合力清出437.6公斤一般垃圾與369.2公斤資源垃圾。歐盟親善大使「歐哞」、環保署吉祥物「減碳雙熊 – 冰冰與黑寶」以及「氣候行動藍色小精靈」也到場聲援。與會人員將撿拾的廢棄物排成一隻海龜的形狀,再次呼籲大眾重視塑膠廢棄物對海洋生態的嚴重危害。


The European Economic and Trade Office (EETO), Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), joined by the staff, friends and family members of the EU Member States offices, and the New Taipei City Bali District residents, have come together again to clean the Coast of Waizewei Nature Reserve. A total number of 248 participants have cleaned up 437.6kg of trash and 369.2kg of recyclable waste.


Climate change is a threat that spares no country. The world is already witnessing multiple devastating impacts. The EU highlights the urgency to step up global efforts in response to climate change, in the context of sustainable development and efforts to eradicate poverty, in line with the implementation of the Agenda 2030 and the Paris Agreement. The EU also recognises the strong calls by the civil society and citizens, especially youth, for enhanced action, ambition and considerations for future generations.


Le changement climatique est une menace qui n'épargne aucun pays. Le monde en subit d'ores et déjà de nombreux effets dévastateurs. L'UE souligne qu'il est urgent d'intensifier les efforts déployés au niveau mondial en réponse au changement climatique, dans le contexte du développement durable et des efforts visant à éradiquer la pauvreté, conformément au Programme 2030 et à l'accord de Paris. L'UE est également consciente des appels pressants lancés par la société civile et les citoyens, en particulier les jeunes, en faveur d'une action plus intense, d'une ambition plus forte et d'une plus grande considération pour les générations futures.


C'est à Ponton Plage, site touristique très prisé des habitants de la ville océane, qu'une centaine de personnes se sont mobilisées mardi 1er octobre autour de l'Ambassadeur de l'Ue Raul Mateus Paula et du maire de Pointe-Noire, Jean-François Kando pour une opération inédite de Beach clean up (nettoyage de plage).

The EU Delegation in Reykjavik organised an intensive programme of events to mark Climate Diplomacy Weeks in Iceland, starting with a beach clean in the margins of the #EUBeachCleanUp and closing with a quiz at the pub!

The 2019 #EUBeachCleanup at Masese Landing Site was joined by over 250 volunteers who included representatives of EU Member States as well as the diplomatic missions of Eritrea, Iceland, Tanzania, Egypt and Turkey, local authorities and the Government of Uganda.

Around 150 volunteers from the EU Delegation to Albania, Europe House, Green Line Albania, Eden Center, and "Kolin Gjoka" Vocational High School came together to participate in EU Beach Cleanup 2019 and clean the Tale beach in Lezha!
