Freedom, Security, and Justice

One of the fundamental objectives of the European Union is to offer its citizens an area of freedom, security, and justice without internal borders. The EU is active in a full range of policy areas to fight terrorism; tackle organized crime; manage migration; establish a common asylum area; develop supportive measures on integration to maximize the positive impact of migrants in the EU; and further develop an integrated management of the external borders and a common visa policy to guarantee the free movement of people within the EU.
