EU Information Centres (EUi) The EU has founded about 500 European Information Centres (EUis), and 100 Depositary Libraries (DEPs) around the world. There are 18 EUis in Japan, all located in universities, and one DEP based at the National Diet Library. These house the body of official publications of the European Union, such as the Official Journal, Treaties, annual report, Bulletin of the EU, statistical publications, all provided by the Publications Office of the European Union. EUis can be found in Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Kanazawa, Mishima, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Nishinomiya, Takamatsu, Fukuyama, Fukuoka, and Naha. Participation in Mini-Symposium for senior high school students EU News 429/2012 24 September 2012 On Tuesday, 18 September 2012 Dr Barbara Rhode, Minister-Counsellor, Head of the Science & Technology Section of the Delegation of the European Union to Japan took part in a Mini-Symposium for senior high school students in Kobe. In her talk Dr Rhode focused on the EU's 20-20-20 environmental targets as well as on the EU's fuel cell and hydrogen research. The symposium took place at Kobe Disaster Prevention Hall and was organised by EUIJ Kansai (an academic cooperation programme financed by the European Union) as part of their public outreach activities.
