EUBAM LIBYA attended a seminar last 23 June 2014 at the Libyan Customs in the beautiful Kasser al Hana venue. High-profile personalities took to the floor, amongst them the Head of the GNC and armed forces Nuri Abusahmin, the Minister of Finance Dr Kilani and the Head of Customs Mustafa al Turjman.

Taking the opportunity of the international drug abuse day, the seminar meant to shed light on the need for cooperation, both nationally and internationally, and among different sectors in society such as law enforcement, media and the medical sector. The seminar also raised questions on prevention through information campaigns, in order to reach out to the young, usually the most affected by drug abuse. 

Head of Customs thanked the EU and EUBAM for the great efforts put in to Libya concerning these important questions. He also welcomed a continuing cooperation.
