As Zimbabwe’s blueberry exports continue to make their mark in European markets, a recent EU Delegation visit to Komani Estates offered a closer look at the country’s thriving horticulture sector — and how the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) is helping turn trade opportunities into growth on the ground.

Rudo*, a 12-year-old from Chiredzi, is back in school and dreaming big. After missing two years of education due to financial hardship, she’s now thriving in class thanks to the EU-funded Fighting Child Labour and Child Trafficking project, implemented by Save the Children and Coalition Against Child Labour and Child Trafficking (CACLAZ).

The new Entry/Exit System (EES) has entered into operation at the external borders of 29 European countries. The system will be introduced gradually during a six-month transition period and will be fully operational from 10 April 2026. During this time, passports continue to be stamped while the electronic registration system is phased in at border crossing points.
