EU-Latin American & Caribbean (LAC) 3rd Experts Meeting on Migration, Brussels, 10-11 March 2008
This experts meeting took place between the European Union (EU) and the Countries of Latin America & the Caribbean (LAC) on 10-11 March 2008 in Brussels in the run-up to the Lima Summit. The two preceeding EU-LAC Experts Meetings on migration took place in the run up to previous Summits.

Objective: To continue dialogue on the four major themes identified by the 2nd Experts Meeting in Cartagena in 2006 for further cooperation, which were also retained in the Vienna Summit Declaration: 1. Treatment, Rights and Integration of Migrants 2. Remittances 3. New Approaches to Migration Policies 4. Irregular Migration and the Fight Against Trafficking and Smuggling of Human Beings |  |
