European Union launches Calls for Proposals for Non-State Actors and Local Authorities in Zambia (14/02/2012)
The European Union has launched two Calls for Proposals to provide grants to support actions by Non-State Actors (NSAs) and Local Authorities (LAs) in Zambia.
Under NSA support, the Call for Proposals is designed to finance actions in the areas of education, health, sustainable livelihoods and corporate social responsibility. Deadline for submission of proposals is 26th March 2012 at 16hr.
Support for LAs is targeted at funding actions in the areas of water and sanitation and waste management, governance, capacity building, civil society participation, accountability and preventive health. Deadline for submission of proposals is 23rd March 2012 at 12hr.
The size of grants for actions proposed by NSAs ranges between EUR 350, 000 and EUR 750, 000 while support for LAs ranges between EUR 200, 000 and EUR 400, 000.
The grants are provided under the "Non –State Actors and Local Authorities in Development" thematic programme introduced by the European Commission in 2007 intended to assist NSAs and LAs make a direct and lasting contribution to improving living conditions and development prospects of the disadvantaged and marginalised in developing countries.
