Greenlight to the EU-Vietnam Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) (16/05/2012)

On May 14, the Council of the European Union authorised the signing of the Framework Agreement on comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation (PCA) between the EU and its member states and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The PCA, which was initialled at the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and European Council President José Manuel Barroso in October 2010, aims to broaden the scope of EU-Vietnam relations. It is an important tool to forge a modern, broad-based and mutually-beneficial partnership with a particularly dynamic partner of ASEAN.

The actual signing ceremony is expected to take place in the next months.
