European Commission announces call for proposals under Erasmus Mundus II programme (16/01/2013)
The European Commission has issued a call for proposals worth more than EUR 194 million in the framework of the EU-funded programme Erasmus Mundus II. Of this, just over EUR 70 million is available for ENPI countries, south and east, under Erasmus Mundus Partnerships.
The call aims to support projects under two of the programme’s three actions: Action 2 and Action 3.
Action 2 aims at fostering structured cooperation between European and third-country higher education institutions through the promotion of mobility at all level of studies for students (undergraduate and masters), doctoral candidates, researchers, academic and administrative staff.
The funding available under this Action for Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) is EUR 29,385 million.
Action 3 aims at promoting European higher education through measures enhancing its attractiveness, profile, image, visibility and accessibility. This Action provides support to the projects dealing with the promotion of European higher education in certain geographical areas, notably Eastern and Southern Neighbourhood countries.
The total budget earmarked for the co-financing of projects under the present call for proposals is EUR 2 million.
Higher education institutions from all ENPI countries are eligible to take part as full partners in Erasmus Mundus projects, though applications must be submitted by an institution from an EU Member State (a partner search tool could be found here).
The deadline for submission of applications under all Actions is 15 April 2013.
The Erasmus Mundus programme's overall aim is to promote European higher education, to help improve and enhance the career prospects of students and to promote intercultural understanding through cooperation with third countries.
